8-Bit Pennant Flag
Give Dad a gift that shows you’re his #1 fan! Using the Kid Made Modern 8-Bit Craft Kit, create this colorful and fun pennant flag. This open-ended kit allows you to create images inspired by pixels - perfect for a Dad who loves computers. Read below to learn how to make your own!
Materials Needed:
- 8-Bit Craft Kit
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Hot Glue Gun (*always ask an adult to help you use a glue gun!)
- Wooden dowel
Instructions:
Step 1: Use scissors to cut a triangular piece of cardboard in the shape of a pennant flag. The cardboard from the lid of your craft kit works perfectly!
Step 2: Glue several pieces of graph paper from the kit onto the cardboard using a glue stick. This will cover the surface and create a fun background for your pennant! Use your scissors to trim any excess paper that hangs off the edges.
Step 3: Decorate your flag! Use the different pixel pieces in the kit along with pipe cleaners to write out a special message for your dad! You can also add googly eyes to a certain section of your flag for a fun little touch. Consider cutting your foam pieces to make smaller shapes, like triangles, to decorate with. When your flag is finished, use hot glue to glue a dowel rod along the back to create a handle.
