Coolest Playgrounds

Like to crochet? So does artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam. She spent three years crocheting this Kandinsky-meets-granny afghan playground in Japan.

There is a reason Horiuchi MacAdam chose crocheting over knitting to create a playground. Crocheting uses more yarn per square inch and therefore produces a sturdier result. While crocheting a playground may be a little ambitious for most of us, projects like baskets or rugs or even a swing are both doable and durable. Fire up those crochet hooks, everyone, a set of coasters are mere hours away.
