Paper Gem Jam

Make your surroundings more festive with these gem ornaments made simply from colorful, printed paper!

This project is simple, satisfying, and can be done with any kind of paper, from recycled cereal boxes à la Andy Warhol, to pretty prints or photos of your favorite animals.

It is also a great way to create three-dimensional forms, and there are may patterns available in books and online to try.

Tools Needed:

  1. Your choice of paper
  2. Scissors
  3. Glue
  4. Something to hang your ornament with, like a ribbon or string
Step 1:

Download and print this octahedron-shaped pattern on the back of any paper you like.

Step 2:

Start by cutting out the entire shape.

Step 3:

Fold along the lines printed on the pattern.

This is how it will look when all the lines have been folded.

Step 4:

Using a glue stick or tape, match the flaps and fold them into the desired shape. Add a pretty ribbon to hang your paper gem on display.

 Happy decorating!
