The Summer Solstice marks the beginning of summer and is the longest period of sunlight of the calendar year. Not that we need a reason to celebrate, but extra rays of sun is a wonderful one! This Summer Solstice Felt Collage is a fun way for kids of all ages to get in on the party. And just like sunsets, each one is unique. Read our tutorial below and bring on summer!
Materials:
- Recycled cardboard
- Kid Made Modern Arts + Crafts Supply Library
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions:
1.) Cut background -- cut a piece of cardboard to use as the background for your collage. You can cut any size that you like, but it helps to cut a rectangle no wider than the width of your felt pieces.
2.) Cut and layout felt pieces -- you can collage an entire sunset sky or also put in some landscape. Cut out various pieces and lay out a plan.
3.) Collage -- glue on the felt pieces. Then add in any extras for the kit that you’d like. We added in a full sun and some sparkle fuzzy sticks.
