Dandelion Flower Art
Get outside for this fun, nature-inspired flower craft! All you’ll need is dandelions, glue, and paper to make fabulous dandelion art!
Begin by selecting a colorful piece of construction paper or card stock. For some extra fun, use our Wondrous Watercolor Kit to create your own background by painting watercolors onto a piece of paper from the Watercolor Pad.
It’s time to gather your dandelions! Get outside and pick as many dandelions as you can find — alternatively, you can use any small and colorful flower you find!
Next, pick the stems off the dandelion at the base of the flower so that just the flowers remain. This is a great tactile activity for little hands!
Use white glue to create the shape you’d like your dandelions to make on the paper. Then, stick the dandelions onto the glue and let dry. Your art will be just “dandy”!

DIY Petal Party Flower Crown
This gorgeous DIY crown is the perfect thing to wear in the springtime — or any time! Kid Made Modern’s Petal Party Jewelry Kit contains tons of fun and colorful floral beads. Use the kit, along with a paper clip and scissors, to create this perfect petal craft!
Use the light and dark green hemp cord from the Petal Party Jewelry Kit to create your base. Cut four pieces of cord, two light green and two dark green, each about 38” long. Fold the strands in half, creating four parallel loops. Tie an overhand knot about ½ in below the loops, making eight strands all together. Snip off two strands, one of each color, leaving six equal sized strands in total.
Next, separate the strands into three groupings of two, and braid the three sections of cord together. Place a paperclip at the end of your braid so that the work remains tight.
Then it’s time to thread the beads! Use the beads in the kit to create a floral pattern of your choice, and keep adding flowers and petals to your liking until the braid is long enough to wrap around your head.
Secure the braid with a knot, and loop the two ends of the braid together to create a circular crown. Place on your head, and you’ll have a pretty petal flower crown fit for royalty!

DIY Cardboard Flower Collage
Use recycled cardboard to create this fabulous floral DIY! Using just cardboard, colorful tissue paper, and supplies from Kid Made Modern’s Arts and Crafts Library, you can make an adorable flower collage!
Begin by preparing your cardboard — use the white paint from the Arts and Crafts Library to paint the background of your cardboard white. This will help the colors on the collage pop!
Once the cardboard is ready to go, layer colorful tissue paper squares on top with glue from the Arts and Crafts Library. Spread the glue on top of the tissue paper, flattening it down to give a smooth appearance. Once the glue is completely dry and you have a smooth surface to work on, use scissors (and the help of a grown-up) to cut out your flower petals and the circular center. Start by flipping your cardboard over to the plain side and draw your flower part shapes.
Once you are finished cutting all of the flower pieces out, decide how you’ll arrange the flower and then glue all of the components together. Finish off your masterpiece by adding even more color! Use the acrylic paints in the Arts and Crafts Library to help every petal pop.
