Fun Crafts for Kids

There's nothing more fun than a great time spent crafting. Whether you're with friends, family, or creating solo, these awesome and enjoyable crafts will keep kids of all ages entertained. Here are a few of our favorite fun crafts for kiddos of all ages. 

Ocean Animal Collage Art

Celebrate the watery wonders of the ocean with this fabulous collage art. For this craft, you’ll need thick and thin cardboard, and supplies found in Kid Made Modern’s Studio In A Box.

First, use a black marker to draw your favorite ocean animals on a thin piece of cardboard. Then, paint them in! Use the watercolor paints found in the Studio In A Box for twelve colorful hues. With a grown-up’s help, use scissors to cut out the animal shapes once they have dried.

Next, it’s time to create your background. Use the Studio In A Box acrylic paints to paint a blue ocean scene onto the thicker piece of cardboard. Once the cardboard has dried, begin to assemble your collage. Take a small square of cardboard and glue it to the center of your background, then glue your animal on top of the small square. This helps it to stand out from the background. 

Lastly, decorate your animal with googly eyes, fuzzy sticks, and pom poms for an awesome 3-D effect.

Shrink Art Monogram Friendship Jewelry

This adorable jewelry art is totally customizable! Kid Made Modern's Shrink Art Jewelry Kit makes it easy to create monogrammed jewelry with a friend.

Begin by selecting your charms! The Shrink Art Jewelry Kit features hearts, star shapes, and more. Color in the charms with the colored pencils, and then add in some alphabet initials to make it monogrammed. Make sure to color your charms in on the rough side of the charm.

Next, shrink the charms! Adult supervision may be required to bake the charms in the oven for one to three minutes at 350℉. Flatten the edges and let cool.

Finally, string together the jewelry. Add the charms to the cord and tie to complete. You'll have a beautiful and personalized necklace!

DIY Rocket Wands

Kid Made Modern's Cosmic Craft Kit has everything you need to make an out-of-this-world craft! These awesome DIY rocket wands are a fun and simple craft for the space lover of all ages.

To start, craft the body of your rocket ship. Pick a color of sticker sheet, leaving the backing on. Trim a second color of sticker sheet into a triangle to top the rocket.

With adult supervision standing by, use a hot glue gun to attach the top of the rocket to the base of the rocket. Cut fins out of another sheet, and glue the fins to the bottom of the rocket ship.

Next, it's time to decorate! Get creative with all of the kit's pieces and decorate your ship with some hardware, accents, and even a peeking cosmonaut if you like.

Finish the rocket ship off by gluing fuzzy sticks to the bottom of the rocket ship to serve as exhaust flames. Finally, glue one end of the wooden craft stick to the bottom to make a wand. You're ready for blast off!

Upcycled Cardboard Roll Cuff 

Wear your art with the Upcycled Cardboard Roll Cuff craft! All you need are some recycled paper towel rolls, plus Kid Made Modern's Arts and Crafts Supply Library and Washable Paint Set. 

Begin by creating your cardboard cuffs! Use recycled paper towel or toilet paper rolls, and cut them horizontally to create different sized cardboard cuffs. Then, use Kid Made Modern’s Washable Paints to paint your cuffs! Get creative with the colors — you can even paint a rainbow!

Finally, it’s time to accessorize. Once the pain has dried, use all of the great accessories and glue from the Arts and Crafts Supply library to decorate. Slide the finished cuff around your wrist, or use a piece of tape to adjust the sizing.

Rainbow Robots

Using the Kid Made Modern Wooden Robot Craft Kit, you can make your own fun and colorful robots! And with the help of Kid Made Modern’s Rainbow Craft Kit, you can give your robot a wonderful rainbow makeover.

Begin by painting the wooden robots included in the Wooden Robot Craft Kit. When your robots have dried, use the craft supplies in the Rainbow Craft Kit to decorate them! 

There are so many unique decorations and details you can add to your robot. Use the felt and/or glitter paper pieces to add color to your robots. Cut rectangles to fit on the robot’s torso, and use small pieces to decorate the arms and legs. 

You can also give your robot buttons and eyes! Use beads, pom poms, and sequins from the craft kit to give your robot all sorts of controls. Glue on googly eyes for a finishing touch. You’ll have a rad rainbow robot!
