One of our favorite crafts is the Mother’s Day Handprint Garden, which uses your kiddos handprints to make a unique flower gift! Using paint, fuzzy sticks, and paper, turn your little one’s hand into a painted garden memory that will last a lifetime.

Note: this craft involves cutting. We recommend an adult supervise any young artist that is not skilled with scissors just yet.

Mother’s Day Flower Pot DIY

Mother’s Day Flower Pot DIY

This craft is perfect for home gardeners, who usually have basic terra cotta pots waiting for plants at home. And if you don’t, no worries! You can pick up these versatile pots at your local hardware, nursery, gardening, or thrift store. They make a beautiful gift for mom that will last for years to come.

Using our Washable Paint set, paint the terra cotta pot white.

Then, glue on fuzzy sticks, felt, pom poms, and more from the Arts and Crafts Supply Library to make your pot truly unique! We love spelling MOM out with the twists and turns of brightly colored fuzzy sticks, and adding on sweet flowers made with poms. No matter your decorating style, mom will love your thoughtfulness and creativity!

And don’t forget to pick up a beautiful plant to house in your new pot. Flowers make a great gift, but any plant potted with love is sure to bring a smile to mom’s face!

Mother’s Day Painted Rocks DIY

Mother’s Day Painted Rocks DIY

Gardeners often place colorfully painted or beautifully adorned rocks in their garden to highlight their landscaping and make their flower pots pop! Painted rocks are also a nice little surprise to place around your mailbox for neighbors to enjoy on walks. No matter how she plans to use them, painted rocks will be a present Mom will cherish every day!

First things first: head to your backyard, garden or local park, find a few palm size (or larger) stones that would make a great bejeweled canvas. Rocks on the larger side with a flat side work best.

Then, using the acrylic paint in your Studio In a Box, paint the stones in a variety of bright and brilliant colors. Paint two coats if you want super-saturated, lovely tones!

Next, string a thread into a needle and add beads using all the goodies you find in the Jewelry Jam Craft Kit. Plan to leave at least 12 inches of thread on each end of the beads to make sure you have plenty to wrap around the rocks.

Lastly, wrap your beaded strings around your rocks, and include a personalized gift note for Mom, and there you have it! A beautiful ornamental rock that Mom will love!
